General:
The area is located at Cavo Greco, in the waters of Ayia Napa, and is easily accessible from the shore. The caves of Cavo Greco are among the most well-known diving routes on the island, experiencing increased traffic from tourists during the summer months. Depths of the caves range from 0-20 meters, and the substrate is mainly rocky but alternates with areas of sandy bottom. The region is characterized by impressive caves and elongated tunnels.
Details:
The diving route commences at a depth of 3 meters, heading south over rocky substrate alternating with sandy terrain at 10 meters depth.
At 11 meters, on our left, we encounter the first elongated cave. Entering the cave, following a southern route for 16 meters, we observe its sandy floor and various passages/exits. We then follow a western path, swimming over large stone slabs for approximately 10 meters, reaching the second cave at a depth of 12 meters.
Entering this cave, we follow a northern route for 30 meters until guided towards the exit at 8 meters depth. The substrate is characterized by small stones in the first half of the cave, transitioning to large rocks in the second half.
Continuing northeast for about 20 meters, we reach the third cave, with an entrance at 3 meters depth and a length of 12 meters, featuring rocky substrate.
Exiting the cave, we head towards the starting point, following a northern route with the stone wall on our left. We ascend slowly, ensuring the completion of the three-minute safety stop at 5 meters.
Depending on each diver’s skill level, we may proceed to the fourth cave at a depth of 2.5 meters, emerging on the surface through a narrow rocky passage.
