Description

Details:

It takes 5 minutes by speedboat from the port of Sigri to the small island of Kavalouros. The mooring is located at a convenient point in the shallower part of the reef, for secure and comfortable descent.

The landscape is really impressive from the start, with bold vertical, volcanic, geological formations. During the dive we meet along the way, small caves and arches which can be explored as well as petrified tree trunks.

From the first minutes of underwater navigation, we find groups of small fish (different kinds of sea Breams, Goldlines, Picarels etc.). Everywhere, there are wonderful, vertical and horizontal geological formations and enough life on and around them. We could say that the reef can be divided into three diving trips, depending on the level and experience of divers (5-10, 5-15m and 5-25m) so there can be combined novice divers and experienced divers. In shallow dominate geological rock formations and many fish, while deeper encounter more flora and benthic species.

Deeper than 15 meters is very likely to encounter groupers, cardinal fishes, colorful sponges, nudibranchs and lobsters within channels formed between the rocks.

Finally after the safety stop at 5 meters we should abandon the stunning scenery and emerge to the surface, with the promise that we will return soon.
